TRAVELLING BOWLING CLUB 2017-01-16T20:09:03+00:00

History

Tess Hassler, a Member of the Fingal Bay Women’s Bowls Club, asked some of our bowlers what they thought of the idea of forming a Travelling Bowlers Club, associated with the Fingal Bay Sports and Recreation Club. This idea was favourably received and it was thought that if enough people were interested it would go ahead.

Tess (the ideas) person got together with Heather Dennis (the worker) and set the wheels in motion in 2006. Correspondence between Fingal Bay Sports and Recreation Club and Sub Clubs was very positive and helpful.
The inaugural meeting of the Fingal Bay Travelling Bowlers Club was held on the 25th February 2007. Initially 40 members were on the books. Our current membership is 186. Tess and her husband left to live back in Sydney in late 2007 and Bob Donovan stepped up from Vice President to President.
